The Vergina Tombs are a historical site located in the town of Vergina in northern Greece, about 80 kilometers southwest of Thessaloniki. The tombs were discovered in 1977 by the archaeologist Manolis Andronikos, and are believed to be the burial site of the ancient Macedonian royal family, including King Philip II, the father of Alexander the Great.
The tombs contain rich treasures, including gold wreaths, jewelry, weapons, and other artifacts. One of the most impressive finds is the royal tomb of Philip II.
